On November 8, 2017, at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department Neighborhood Policing Team (NPT) and detectives from the Oxnard Police Department Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) were conducting high visibility enforcement in the area of 1470 Colonia Road, in Oxnard. Officers contacted a group of juveniles they observed smoking marijuana in a parked vehicle.
Upon contacting the group, officers learned that one of the subjects was on probation for weapons violations. A probation search of the vehicle produced a loaded .22 caliber. A 14 year old male juvenile was subsequently arrested for “Minor in Possession of a Handgun”.
