On October 27, at approximately 4:18 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Saviers Road and Pleasant Valley Road. Officers contacted the adult male driver and passenger Alejandro Rocha. During the stop officers observed a handgun in the pocket of Rocha’s sweatshirt. Rocha was detained and the loaded handgun was removed from his pocket. A records check of the firearm later determined the handgun to be unregistered.
Rocha was arrested for possession of a loaded, unregistered firearm. The driver was released at the scene.
