On May 15, 2018, at 8:40 PM, Officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the area of Pleasant Valley and Terrace Avenue regarding a person shooting at a moving vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was struck one time, and the driver was not injured. The Oxnard Police Departments Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) continued work the investigation and ultimately identified Francisco Ramirez as the shooter. Today at 2:30 PM, The Department’s Special Enforcement Unit located Ramirez in the 4000 block of Saviors Road. During a search of Ramirez, officers discovered he had a concealed 9mm handgun tucked in his waistband. Special Enforcement Unit officers and Violent Crimes Investigators subsequently served a Search Warrant at Ramirez’s residence. Ramirez was booked at the Ventura County Jail on four (4) felony gun related charges.
