DETAILS:
On December 23, at approximately 11:34 p.m., officers from the Special Enforcement Unit (gang unit) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Oxnard Blvd. and Glenwood reference a vehicle code infraction. Upon making contact with the occupants, officers discovered that a rear passenger, suspect Mario Diaz, was in possession of a loaded handgun. Diaz is a documented criminal street gang member and one of his probation terms specifically states he is not allowed to possess firearms or ammunition, making this arrest a felony.
