Luis McArthur
Comandante de Distrito Norte Contact Luis McArthurLuis McArthur comenzó su carrera con el Departamento de Policía de Oxnard, en el 1995. Se ha desempeñado como Oficial de Entrenamiento de Campo, Miembro del Equipo de bicicletas, Oficial de Recursos, Coordinador de ritmo en el barrio Colonia, Actividades de la Policía Liga Codirector, Oficial de información pública, El plomo detective Asalto Sexual y el sargento de la patrulla. En la actualidad es comandante de guardia de patrulla y tiene responsabilidades de gestión del Distrito Norte, que incluye la recogida en RiverPark.
Comandante McArthur tiene una pasión por el servicio público, building an inclusive community and helping young people develop meaningful relationships with police officers to inspire Oxnard’s youth to realize their full potential and prevent juvenile delinquency. He created a competitive and recreational PAL soccer program for children of all ages to have a fun place to play, learn and grow nurtured by a special relationship with youth development professionals and police officers. En 2009, he spoke at a governor’s conference in Mexico on police and youth engagement. He has been a four-time officer of the year nominee. En 2006, he received the Chief’s Award of Excellence and was named outstanding person of the year by the indigenous community of San Martin Peras. En 2010, he received the Community Award from the Fox Soccer Channel and in 2016 he received the Community and Service Award from the Association of Mexican American Educators.
Commander McArthur can be heard weekly on Spanish radio and seen on public access TV talking on police issues, crime prevention and police-community relations.
Luis was raised in Oxnard. He attended Fred Williams Elementary School, Blackstock Junior High School and graduated from Channel Islands High School.
Commander McArthur obtained his bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Psychology from California State University Northridge.
Luis works with many community-based organizations, has professional affiliations and was a former board member of the Coalition for Family Harmony.
