DETALLES:
The Oxnard Police Department Property Crimes Unit (PCU) would like to inform the residents of Oxnard that there have been over 30 stolen vehicles between April 16 y puede 4, 2017. The more startling statistic is that approximately half of them could have been prevented (unlocked, keys left in the vehicle, vehicle left running and unattended)!
The stolen vehicle trend is citywide and there is no specific type of vehicle that is being stolen. The only commonality is that the vehicles are being left unlocked, with keys in them or they were left running and unattended.
Your Oxnard Police Department can’t do it alone and we need your help! The Property Crimes Unit would like to remind residents that Crime Prevention Is Your Responsibility, not just that of the police department. Crime prevention begins at home and with each individual person in our community. With that said, the PCU would also like to provide some tips to residents to help prevent them from becoming a victim.
