During the late-night hours of May 28, 2025, patrol officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to three separate calls for service regarding the theft of vehicle wheels/tires. In each of the incidents, the vehicle was left on improvised lifts after the wheels had been removed.
On May 29, 2025, one of the victims of theft located what he believed to be his stolen wheels/tires for sale on a social media website. The victim contacted the Oxnard Police Department Property Crimes Unit, who assumed the investigation. Undercover investigators contacted the seller of the stolen wheels and arranged to meet with him. Later that day, undercover investigators located the seller, later identified as a 17-year-old Oxnard resident, in the 2300 block of North Rose Avenue.
The 17-year-old was found to be in possession of the stolen wheels/tires, which were recovered, and several tools utilized during the theft. Investigators conducted follow-up at the suspect’s residence, and recovered the stolen wheel/tires. They also recovered two additional sets of wheels/tires that had also previously been reported stolen. Investigators are working to return the stolen property to the victims.
