Oxnard Police Department Sexual Assault Detectives were investigating an incident involving an Oxnard School District employee identified as Miguel Marquez, 24-year-old Oxnard Resident. Investigators received information in reference to Marquez inappropriately contacting the victim, sending the victim lewd text messages, and communicating with the minor with the intent to commit sexual assault. Investigators worked diligently on the investigation.
On June 4, 2025, Marquez was contacted at Marina West Elementary School and arrested for sending harmful material to a minor, and communicating with a minor with the intent to commit sexual assault.
The victim was not a student at Marina West Elementary School, but was a student in the Oxnard School District.
Marquez was booked into Ventura County Main Jail, where he posted bond and was released. Marquez’s next court appearance is June 18, 2025.
