Ask The Chief
I am honored to welcome you to the Oxnard Police Department's "Ask the Chief"
page of our website. This page was developed to provide our residents and visitors a
forum to ask me any question you may have about the Oxnard Police Department or any
of it's many programs.
If you have questions of me, then you are at the right place. To stay informed as to
what our residents are inquiring about, visit this page often. Thank you in advance
for taking the time to ask your questions and giving me the opportunity to address them.
New Volunteer Program
I read about a new program the Oxnard Police Department is about to unveil. It's called VIP...what is that?
I am very excited about this new opportunity for our residents to join and assist us in our duties. VIP stands for "Volunteers in Policing" and it is a program whereby residents will volunteer their time and talents to further the mission of the Oxnard Police Department. I believe that our residents want to work with us to solve problems of crime, traffic and quality of life.
Membership into the VIPS program will be available to all members of the community who are over the age of 18 years, once a background check is completed. Opportunities for volunteering will include in office duties, citizen patrols, graffiti paint out, conducting tours of the police station, and a host of other responsibilities. For anyone interested in participating in this effort please contact David Keith @ 385-7631. We hope to have this program operational by January 1, 2006.
