OXNARD POLICE DEPARTMENT
DETAILS: On May 29, 2013, at about 1:49 P.M., officers and EMS responded to an injury traffic collision involving a motorcycle on Ventura Road north of Stone Creek Road. Upon arrival, officers found a motorcycle lying on its side on the center median along with the rider.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the Suzuki motorcycle, driven by Richard Luna, 32 years, was northbound on Ventura Road north of Stone Creek Drive. Luna failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and collided with the center median. Luna lost control and collided with shrubbery and trees in the center median and was ultimately ejected from the motorcycle.
Luna suffered abrasions, two broken legs, a punctured lung, and multiple broken ribs as a result of the collision. He was transported to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment.
Drugs and/or alcohol are not considered factors in this collision. However, chemical analysis results are pending.
