SUBJECT: Officers arrest suspect after an aggravated trespassing and shooting incident.
SUSPECTS: Richard Maldonado, 27 year old Burbank resident
LOCATION: 2400 block Oldham Circle, Oxnard

On the above date and time, Oxnard Police officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Oldham Circle reference screaming in the area and a gunshot being heard. Upon arrival, officers contacted two males who were in the patio area of a residence struggling over a shotgun. The officers were able to separate both parties and they started their investigation. It was determined that Richard Maldonado (D.O.B. 3-11-95) a City of Burbank resident was in the victim’s property possibly casing. Maldonado was approached by the homeowner who was holding a shotgun. Maldonado was able to grab the shotgun from the victim and they started struggling over the shotgun. During the struggle the shotgun discharged. Nobody was injured due to the discharge of the shotgun. Maldonado and the victim do not know each other.
Maldonado was subsequently arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated trespassing and elder abuse. Maldonado is currently on parole for evading police.
