On May 3, 2020, at about 7:00 PM, a patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, for a traffic infraction, at the intersection of Rose Avenue and South Oxnard Boulevard. There were two occupants in the vehicle. The driver was identified as Jesus Aguilar (age 35), and the passenger was a 17-year-old male. A records check showed Aguilar had a suspended driver’s license. During a search of the interior of the vehicle, officers located two loaded handguns with high capacity magazines, in addition to a small quantity of heroin.
Aguilar is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm. He was arrested multiple felonies including felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, and possession of a large capacity magazine. Aguilar was booked at Ventura County Jail.
The juvenile was arrested for carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle and lodged in Ventura County Juvenile Hall.
