On May 11, 2019, at about 11:41 A.M., patrol officers from the Oxnard Police Department along with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the 1300 block of Bluebell Street regarding a an injury traffic collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian. When the police officers arrived at the scene, they located a 30-year old Hispanic male lying in the roadway.
Bystanders provided first-aid to the male as police officers and EMS arrived on-scene. The 30-year old was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center by ambulance. Unfortunately, the 30-year old succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Detectives from the Oxnard Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit responded to investigate the incident. Based on information obtained during the investigation, detectives believe an altercation occurred between the two males that resulted in the death of the 30-year old. The motive or cause of the altercation is still being investigated.

The City of Oxnard offers a reward of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible for committing homicides within the City.
