DETAILS:
On October 11, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers from the Special Enforcement Unit (gang unit) were patrolling the area of “C” St. and Bryce Canyon when they observed two juveniles. The juveniles looked back toward the police car and immediately started to flee. It appeared that one of the juveniles was attempting to hold an object concealed in the area of his waistband. The officers believed the juvenile was attempting to conceal a firearm. The juvenile was caught and attempted to struggle with the officer. During the struggle, the juvenile dropped a handgun. The juvenile was arrested for felony possession of a firearm by a juvenile. The juvenile was treated for a minor injury that he received during the struggle, and transported to Juvenile Hall.
