DETAILS: On November 12, 2017, at 6:30 pm, Oxnard police officers located Salinas driving in the area of north Oxnard. Salinas, who is wanted on felony charges for driving a stolen vehicle, fled from the officers when the officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Salinas failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit covered several areas of north Oxnard, before leaving the city traveling south on the 101 Freeway. Ultimately, the pursuit culminated in the City of Camarillo when Salinas struck another vehicle at the intersection of Arneill Road at Pondarosa Drive, rendering both vehicles inoperable. Salinas fled from the vehicle he was driving and was quickly taken into custody by Oxnard police officers. The driver of the vehicle Salinas struck sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Salinas also sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital and later booked into county jail on felony charges of evading and hit and run causing injury. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office investigated and completed the Collison report.
