DETAILS: (Oxnard, Calif) – On April 12, 2017, at approximately 11 p.m., Oxnard police officers responded to a shooting victim at the intersection of San Gorgonio Avenue and Featherstone Street. Police officers arrived on scene and located a 22 year old Hispanic male in the street with gunshot wounds. The police officers provided the victim with first aid until EMS personnel arrived on scene. The victim was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center by ambulance. Despite the lifesaving efforts of the police officers, EMS personnel and hospital staff, the victim succumbed to injuries.
Investigators with the Major Crimes Unit and the Violent Crimes Unit responded to the crime scene to assume the investigation. The motive for the homicide is unknown, but gang motivation has not been ruled out.
The City of Oxnard offers a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect(s) in homicide cases.
