On January 14, 2018, at about 12:40 A.M., officers from the Special Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Palm Drive and C Street. The driver of the vehicle, David Gonzales was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and arrested. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a stolen .357 caliber revolver as well as narcotics and paraphernalia indicative of drug sales. Gonzales is a documented gang member.
Gonzales was arrested and later booked into the Ventura County Jail for possessing a stolen firearm while under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for sales.
