On November 7, 2017, at 7:00pm, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a robbery at the Hacienda Meat Market, 657 S. Ventura Rd. Upon arrival they discovered the suspect had been disarmed and held by employees. It was determined that the 16 year old male suspect had entered the store and brandished a knife while demanding money from the clerk. It was then that an unidentified customer knocked the knife out of the suspect’s hands with a broom. Store employees then held the suspect down until police arrived.
During the arrest of the suspect, officers found a realistic looking handgun in one of the suspect’s pants pocket. The suspect was arrested and later booked into Juvenile Hall. No one was injured during the incident or arrest of the suspect.
