Senior to Senior Adoption Program

Senior animals have a hard time getting adopted at local shelters. Approximately twenty to thirty percent of the dogs and cats that come through the Ventura County animal shelter are five years or older.
To encourage the adoption of more senior animals at the Camarillo shelter, VCAS is offering discount adoption fee for seniors, 55 years and older, for adopting a senior animal from our shelter. The regular $125.00 adoption price will be reduced to $60.00 and will include the cost of spaying and neutering, licensing, microchip, rabies shot, a certificate for free vet exam at the vet of your choice, and six free dog obedience lessons. To qualify for this program, the senior must show proof of age and a resident of Ventura County. A list of “Senior Animals” is posted at http://www.vcas.us.
