On Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at 6:09 AM, St. John’s Hospital contacted the Oxnard Police Department to report a shooting victim had arrived at the emergency room. Officers responded and contacted the 50 year old male victim, who is an Oxnard resident. The victim had a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg.
An investigation revealed the victim was handling a firearm at his residence in the 400 block of North Bonita Avenue when it discharged, causing the gunshot wound to the victim’s leg. The victim was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center for treatment.
