DETAILS:
On 12-25-09, at approximately 2148 hours, officers received a call regarding a robbery that just occurred with one suspect being armed with a handgun. The suspect vehicle parked in front of the victim’s residence and one suspect approached the victims. The suspect claimed “Colonia” and then struck the victims with the handgun. The suspect took a cellular phone and a wallet containing an undisclosed amount of cash.
The victims followed the suspect vehicle for a short time when they eventually caught up with them in the 1200-block of Mountain View Avenue. One of the suspects exited the vehicle and fired several rounds at the victims. The suspects then fled the scene. A short time later, officers located the suspect vehicle and initiated a vehicle pursuit.
During the vehicle pursuit, one of the passengers discarded a loaded handgun but it was later recovered. The pursuit terminated in the area of Paseo Nogales and Paseo Isla and the suspects fled on foot. After conducting a search of the area, two suspects were taken into custody.
