On May 23, 2020, at approximately 3:31 A.M., Officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call for service of a male subject asking for help in the 200 block of East Pleasant Valley Road. As one of the responding officers arrived on scene, their vehicle struck a 27-year-old Hispanic Male who was lying in the roadway.
Emergency medical personnel were summoned to the scene and the subject was transported to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment. The subject suffered moderate injuries and is listed in stable but guarded condition.
Traffic investigators responded and conducted an investigation to determine the cause of the collision. Preliminary information indicated that the pedestrian may have been under the influence of drugs.
