Gloria Altamirano was shot and killed on a walkway between 710 and 720 Cuesta Del Mar on July 30, 2006 at about 5:30 in the evening. Altamirano was 22 years old at the time of her murder. She was originally from Puebla, Mexico and worked for Colorado Farms LLC in Somis.

On 08/22/2011 at 0300 hours, the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a domestic disturbance in the 1900 block of N. “H” Street in Oxnard. When the officers arrived they observed the suspect in the courtyard of the apartment complex and a confrontation occurred. Several shots were fired and the suspect received a minor gunshot wound. On 8/4/11 at approximately 1832 hours, Oxnard Police officers were dispatched to Community Center Park-East in reference to a subject brandishing a firearm. When officers arrived they contacted the victim who told them that he was at the park with a couple of friends when he was approached by a subject. The subject began a confrontation with the victim. On 8/3/11 and 8/4/11, members of the Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU), with the assistance of other department personnel, served search warrants at four residences located in the City of Oxnard.

Today Oxnard PD officer Joe Tinoco Jr. was arrested for 273.5 PC - domestic violence, 136.1 PC - false imprisonment and 273(a)(b) PC - endangering the welfare of a child. He will be booked into the Ventura County Jail at about

On July 29, 2011, at approximately 2255 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the 4600 block of S. Rose Av. after receiving a call of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Once on scene, officers and EMS personnel found that a pedestrian, a 21-year old male, residence unknown, had been run over by several vehicles in the northbound lanes of Rose Av. On 7/14/11, Oxnard Police Officers received a report of an armed robbery that occurred in the 1000 block of Piñata Street. The victim told police that he had been in a dispute with the suspect over the sale of a car. The suspect, later identified as Luis Hernandez, confronted the victim and demanded money for repairs that he had to make to the vehicle that he had bought earlier in the month. On July 28, 2011, at approximately 0730 hours, officers and EMS personnel responded to the area of Gonzales road and Gallatin Way after receiving a call of a vehicle collision involving multiple vehicles. On 7/21/11, at about 1500 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigation and Los Angeles Police Department served two search warrants in the cities of Oxnard and Pacoima. On Friday July 16, 2011 at about 1:37 A.M., officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a possible injury collision at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Rose Avenue involving a pedestrian. When police arrived they found an injured male laying face down along the north curb of Pleasant Valley Road just west of Rose Avenue. On 7-11-2011 @ approximately 1319 hours officers from the Oxnard Police Department were dispatched to a robbery that had just occurred at the Thrifty Gas Station located at 1501 W. Gonzales Road. The suspect entered the gas station and pulled out a knife demanding the cashier open the cash register. The cashier was unable to open the register as an area power outage had just occurred. On July 10, 2011 at approximately 10:00 PM, officers were flagged down by a citizen reporting a robbery that had just occurred. The citizens pointed out the suspect vehicle as it was leaving the area. Officers stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Evaristo Palma, and his passenger Francisco Salazar. On July 10, 2011 at approximately 8:30 AM, Officer Scott Matalon was patrolling the 2300 block of Greenbrook Drive, when he observed a suspicious container on the side of the road. On July 9, 2011 at approximately 9:21 PM, officers responded to a call of a shooting victim in the 300 block of East Fir Avenue. When officers arrived they located the victim, who was shot once in the lower leg. The victim was transported to Ventura County Medical Center, where he is in stable condition. On April 26, 2011 at approximately 6:00 PM, officers responded to a call of a robbery that occurred in the area of Graves Ave and Pajaro St. When officers arrived they contacted four male victims who told police they had been robbed of their personal belongings by four male suspects. The victims told officers that one of the suspects had been armed with a handgun, and had forced the victims to enter a dumpster enclosure to the rear of a business on Graves Ave where the robbery occurred. On 6-23-2011, during the early morning hours, two separate armed robberies occurred in the north end of the city. The first robbery occurred in the 1500 Block of Graves Avenue and the second occurred in the 1900 block of North “C” Street. During both robberies the suspect was armed with a weapon. On July 4th, the Channel Islands Harbor District will be hosting its 14th annual 4th of July event. The event will begin at 8:00 A.M. with a 10K & 5K Fun Walk along Sunset Lane and Mandalay Beach Road. This will be followed by the July 4th Children’s Parade on Harbor Boulevard. The parade will begin at 10:30 A.M. and take place on south Harbor Boulevard between Cabezone Circle and Albacore Way. Harbor Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic during the parade. On 6/14/11, at approximately 1738 hours, officers responded to a call of a stabbing in the 700 block of W. Channel Islands Blvd. When Officers arrived they located the victim, who had sustained a stab wound near his left armpit, causing moderate injuries. The suspect fled the area prior to Officers arriving. During the investigation the suspect was identified as Francisco Javier Raygoza, a 21 year old Oxnard resident. On June 26, 2011 at approximately 8:02 PM, officers responded to a call of shots being fired in the area of Hemlock St. and Patterson Rd. When officers arrived they were unable to locate anyone. On 06-24-2011 Officers observed Juan Pina as he attempted to steal over 100 gallons of gasoline. Pina was using an electric pump to siphon gasoline from the underground storage tanks into a large water storage container inside of his vehicle. On 6-23-2011 in the early morning hours two separate armed robberies had occurred. The first one was in the 1500 Block of Graves Avenue. The victim was approached from behind and the suspect demanded all of their property. The suspect was possibly in possession of a shotgun. On 6/22/11 at 10:00pm, an Oxnard resident was driving home and saw two subjects, Raymond Osuna and a 17 yr old male, walking at 1100 block of Patricia St. The resident saw Osuna walking on the sidewalk while the juvenile was walking on the street. Osuna was acting as a look-out while the juvenile was pulling on the door handles of at least 6 parked vehicles. On 06/20/2011 at approximately 2109 hours suspect Frank Madueno entered the Toppers Pizza Restaurant and pointed a weapon at the male employee who was standing next to the cash register. Possession of fireworks in Oxnard is illegal. The Oxnard Police Department will continue its aggressive “no tolerance” fireworks enforcement this summer particularly during the 4th of July weekend. Possession of dangerous fireworks is prohibited by Oxnard City Ordinance Section 7-147.1(B)(A)(1) and possession of safe and sane fireworks is prohibited by OXO 7-147.1(B)(A)(2). On 6/17/11 officers from the Oxnard Police Department teamed up with Police Explorers and Volunteers in Policing to canvass specific areas of the Southwinds neighborhood in Oxnard for any possible witnesses to the two recent homicides that occurred within two weeks of each other. This afternoon, Esther Patricia Prado (D.O.B. 9/3/65) was arrested for purchasing weapons for her son, Juan (Johnny) Prado (D.O.B. 6/14/89) a known gang member. Juan Prado is a prohibited person defined by the State of California to possess any weapons. Esther Prado was arrested for Supplying a Firearm to a Prohibited Person, Aiding and Abetting, and a Gang Enhancement. She was booked into Ventura County Main Jail where she awaits her arraignment. At about 9 p.m. on Thursday night, Oxnard police received a call of an armed robbery to the business in the 1400 W. Doris Ave. Witnesses told officers the suspect entered the business, displayed a black colored handgun, demanded property and fled on foot. Officers checked the area with negative results. The Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) has been investigating a string of armed robberies and carjacking incidents that occurred in South Oxnard over a 3 week period. The suspect was identified as Manuel Martinez, an Oxnard gang member. Follow-up revealed that Martinez had recently been released from Folsom Prison just 2 months earlier. On 6-10-2009, victim Joseph Jacquez (13 years old at the time of shooting) was walking in the area of Roosevelt Street and First Street when he was gunned down by several gang members. This shooting occurred in retaliation for a Southside gang member and girlfriend that had been assaulted and robbed the night before in the City of Ventura. On June 10, 2011 at approximately 4:11 PM, officers responded to a call of a shooting victim in the area of Hueneme Road and “J” Street. When officers arrived they located the victim, who had sustained several gunshot wounds to his upper body. On 06/07/2011 at approximately 0330 hours a white male subject entered the Du-par’s Restaurant and pointed a black handgun at the female employee who was standing next to the cash register. The subject demanded cash and the then fled the restaurant on foot in an unknown direction with the currency. There were no injuries during this incident and no witnesses have been identified. The Oxnard Police department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying this suspect as this Du-par’s restaurant was also robbed approximately 10 days earlier by a similar subject. On June 3, 2011, at approximately 2028 hours, officers and EMS personnel responded to the 100 block of North “C” Street after receiving a call of a vehicle collision involving a mini-van and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers found that a 53 year old male of Oxnard had been struck by a mini-van driven by Richard Ray, 69 years old of Oxnard. On 5-31-11 about 0700 hours, Oxnard PD units were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Kamala regarding an assault victim. During the investigation, it was revealed that the victim was asleep when he was attacked with a metal object by a male acquaintance. On 05/30/2011 at approximately 1930 hours the victim, an 18 year old male, was walking in the 4700 block of Terrace Avenue when he noticed a gray newer model four door Toyota sedan with paper plates following him. On May 27, 2011 at approximately 10:07 PM officers responded to a call of a shooting victim in the 300 block of Cuesta Del Mar. Police units arrived minutes later and found the victim on the sidewalk. The victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. On May 26, 2011, at approximately 0510 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the 2100 block of Saviers Road reference a man down next to a bicycle. On May 9, 2011, at approximately 1940 hours, an officer of the Oxnard Police Department was driving in a marked black and white patrol car southbound on Victoria Ave approaching Wooley Rd. He saw a motorcycle travelling southbound on Victoria Ave south of Wooley Rd that was travelling at a high rate of speed and making numerous lane changes without signaling. On 05/03/2011 at approximately 2006 hours the victim was in the passenger seat of his vehicle which was parked next to the suspect vehicle. Suspect Apolinar Lopez got into his vehicle and started to argue with the victim. Suspect Apolinar Lopez got out of his vehicle and started to assault the victim. Lopez’s brother identified as Javier Lopez assisted in the assault. During the altercation the victim sustained an approximate two inch stab wound to the right side of his lower stomach. On 4/30/11 at about 8:45 P.M., Oxnard police and emergency medical personnel responded to a call of an injured subject in the 300 block of East Fir Street. The injured party was assaulted by a suspect known to him who was armed with a bat or similar weapon. The suspect was identified and contacted at his residence. The suspect was arrested without incident. The victim was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. On April 29, 2011, at about 0438 hours, Oxnard Police Department officers and EMS personnel responded to a traffic collision involving an SUV and a motorcycle. Upon arrival they found that a motorcycle, ridden by a male, 24 years old of Oxnard, had rear-ended a sport utility vehicle driven by Marvin Serrano, 44 years old of Oxnard. The motorcycle rider sustained major injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. Serrano complained to minor back and neck pain but did not require medical treatment. On April 13, 2011 at approximately 2100 hours, officers were dispatched to Mariposa and Camelia Street in regards to two subjects spray painting in the area. When officers arrived, the two subjects fled and officers observed one of the subjects discard a loaded firearm and a spray can. Both subjects were taken into custody without further incident. On 4/19/2011 at about 11:30 AM, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a domestic dispute in the 1800 block of Lookout Drive. The female victim contacted the police outside her residence and advised that the suspect was armed with a small caliber handgun. The Oxnard Police Department will be conducting a multi-location sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint on Sunday, March 20, 2011, from 6:00 P.M. to midnight. The checkpoint will be held throughout the City of Oxnard and is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In addition to the checkpoint, several officers will be conducting a DUI saturation patrol before and during the checkpoint. On January 31, 2011, a nine year old female Oxnard resident received unsolicited text messages on her cellular telephone from a person unknown to her. The text messages continued for several hours and the Suspect persuaded the Victim to send him a partially nude photograph of herself via text message. The Victim’s mother discovered the situation when she checked her daughter’s cell phone that night and reported the incident to the Oxnard Police Department. This morning at approximately 6:00 am more than twenty arrest warrants were served simultaneously at multiple locations in the cities of Oxnard, Ventura and Port Hueneme. On 1/30/11, at about 0825 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a residence in the 3400 block of Frankfort Court reference a 911 hang up call. Since December 2010 the Oxnard Police Department has received several reports regarding vehicle tampering and wheel thefts citywide. Victims have found their vehicles on blocks with all four wheels missing. The thefts have been occurring during nighttime hours. On January 27, at about 10:00 AM, Oxnard Police Officers were called to the 2100 block of Avila Pl reference a trespass. Officers learned that previous occupants had been evicted from the residence by Ventura County Sheriff’s officials on January 19th. The owner of the residence told officers that an attorney representing the former occupants was trespassing. The attorney told officers that he had filed additional paperwork with the Ventura County Court and that he was there to take possession of the home. At about 3 PM Oxnard officers responded to Oxnard Blvd and Date streets regarding a traffic collision. The collision caused power lines to go down in the street. At the current time Oxnard Blvd is closed between Date St and Commercial. Power company officials are in route.

On 1/21/11, a resident of Oxnard received a phone call from an unknown person saying that the resident had just won a large cash prize from Publishers Clearinghouse. The caller began to ask personal questions of the resident. The resident realized that this was probably a scam, and gave no personal information to the caller. On 1/11/11 at approximately 1930 hours, officers were dispatched to a stabbing victim in the 2600 block of Saviers Road. When the officers arrived, they found the victim had been stabbed multiple times in his left forearm. The victim was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center for treatment. On January 9, 2011, at approximately 1720 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the intersection of Rice Avenue and Camino Del Sol after receiving a call of an injury traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle. Once on scene, officers found that a motorcycle, ridden by a female driver, 22 years old of Oxnard, and her female passenger, 20 years of Santa Paula, had collided with a Lincoln Town Car, driven by Stephanie Pinkard, 46 years old of Studio City. On 1/8/11 at approximately 0123 hours, Oxnard Police Department officers were dispatched to the 7-11 store located at 1955 Patterson Rd. concerning an armed robbery. The suspect entered the store and produced a handgun that was initially concealed under his sweatshirt. The suspect demanded all of the cash from the clerk. After obtaining the cash the suspect fled the store southbound to Hemlock Street to a waiting black Cadillac CTS. The vehicle was last seen west bound on Hemlock Street. On 1/6/11 at approximately 2139 hours, an Oxnard Police Officer was flagged down by a subject who had suffered three stab wounds, in the area of Channel Islands Blvd. and “M” Street. The stabbing victim directed officers to the area that he was stabbed, which was in the 1200 block of West Kamala Street. A power outage in the area of Five Points has resulted in the traffic signals at the Five Points intersection to go dark. In an effort to assist motorists, the City of Oxnard Streets Department has installed temporary stop signs at the intersection. The intersection is expected to be affected for 6 to 20 hours until power can restored. Significant delays can be expected; and alternate routes are advisable. On the above date/time, a trailer hauling construction equipment collided with an electrical power pole, damaging the power pole. Crews are currently on scene repairing the power pole. Wooley Road is closed between Commercial and Richmond. Power to the area is expected to be interrupted at some point during the repair process. On 01-05-2011 at 5:41 A.M. Officers received a call of a vehicle struck by a train at the Wagon Wheel railroad crossing. Upon officer’s arrival to the location, it was discovered that Oxnard resident Marcos Sotelo age 19, attempted to drive his 1991 Jeep Cherokee across the railroad tracks and became stuck on the tracks. On 1-3-11 at approximately 0140 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department were dispatched to a robbery at the Burger King Restaurant located at 2001 N. Oxnard Boulevard. The Oxnard Police Department Traffic Unit conducted three sobriety and driver’s license checkpoints on Friday, December 31st, 2010, from 6:00 P.M. to midnight.

On 1/1/11 at approximately 0210 hours, Oxnard Police Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Pericles regarding a fight in progress. When officers arrived they located a male subject who had suffered several stab wounds to his abdomen. On January 1, 2011, at approximately 0254 hours, Officer Jim Crilly of the Oxnard Police Department was monitoring traffic at the intersection of Rose Avenue and Fifth Street when he observed a Grey, Cadillac travelling southbound on the west sidewalk of Rose Avenue north of Fifth Street. On 12-31-10 at approximately 1912 hours, Oxnard Police Officers were dispatched to a stabbing victim in the 600 block of Hill Street. Officers arrived and contacted a subject who suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. The victim was unconscious and not talking when the officers arrived. On 12/23/10 at approximately 11:30 am, police officers responded to calls of a male disturbing at the Oxnard State Beach Park. The subject was identified as 45 year-old Regan Patno of Ventura. On 12/8/2010, at 0813 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the call of a sexual battery in the area of Roosevelt Avenue and Colonia Road. Today at 8:03 A.M., Oxnard police stopped a silver 2002 Nissan Altima in the 1200 block of Mercantile Street for illegal window tint. The driver, Gerardo Tapia Aguilar, of Oxnard, was the sole occupant. Officers determined Aguilar was driving on a suspended driver license. Oxnard police and fire units are on scene of a traffic stop conducted by Oxnard police around 0800 hours in the 1200 block of Mercantile Street. Officers located an unidentified substance inside of the vehicle. As a precautionary measure, the area surrounding the vehicle in question has been cordoned off and Oxnard Fire Hazardous Materials Unit was dispatched. This incident is underway and the substance has yet to be identified. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to stay clear of the area as road closures are in effect in the surrounding area.

On November 15, 2010, at approximately 1906 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department, along with EMS personnel, responded to the 1000 block of Offshore Street after receiving a call of a single vehicle collision that had rolled over in the intersection of Offshore Street and Navy Lane. On 11-15-10, at approximately 1815 hours, officers responded to the 200-block of Cuesta Del Mar reference shots being fired in the area. On 11-9-10 at 2:47 PM officers from the Oxnard Police Department were sent to assist the Oxnard Fire Department with a burn victim. During an investigation it was learned the victim was transient and had fallen asleep while smoking a cigarette next to a building hidden from public view. On November 6, 2010, at approximately 1434 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department along with EMS personnel responded to the 3100 block of Sturgis Road after receiving a call of a single vehicle collision that had struck an electrical pole. Upon arrival, officers found that the Nissan Altima had been torn into two pieces and the single occupant had been ejected. The Oxnard Police Department wants to advise homeowners and contractors that there has been an increase in vacant residential burglaries throughout the city of Oxnard. In the last month, there have been ten vacant homes burglarized. Suspects are taking appliances, tools, and in some instances removing installed plumbing pipes from the walls. On 11-2-10 officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to two robberies at local businesses that occurred approximately 10 minutes apart. The first occurred at the Payless Shoe Source located at 2051 N. Rose Avenue. One suspect approached the clerk, simulated a weapon, and demanded cash. The other suspect was seen in the area. On November 2, 2010, at approximately 0753 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to Victoria Ave. north of Channel Islands Blvd. after receiving a call of a rollover traffic collision involving three (3) vehicles. He told investigators that he had heard detectives where serving search warrants at his family’s residences looking for him. On 10/25/10 at about 1:10 p.m., Officer Jessica Eglin was traveling with several other police motorcycle officers on a training ride southbound Oxnard Blvd. (SR-1) south of Pleasant Valley Rd. when she bumped into another Oxnard police motorcycle. She subsequently lost control and crashed in the dirt/grassy center median. Officer Eglin was transported by Gold Coast Ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center where she was examined and subsequently released with no significant injuries. On 10/24/2010, at approximately 1630 hours, (2) suspects approached the victim in the 400 block of Grant Avenue and asked for a ride. The victim agreed. The suspects directed the victim to pull over and stop in an alley. Upon stopping, the suspects assaulted the victim, causing minor injuries. One of the suspects held a knife to the victim and demanded money. The victim fled on foot, leaving his vehicle behind. The suspects reentered the victim’s vehicle and drove off.

On 10-14-10, at approximately 5:20 PM, a car stop was made by Oxnard Police. Four occupants of the car fled from officers. On October 12, 2010, at approximately 1905 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to Wooley Road east of Mercantile Avenue after receiving a call of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Once on scene, officers and EMS personnel found that a 75 year old male pedestrian had been struck by a pickup that was driven by Victor Ulteras of Ventura. The Oxnard Police Department and Oxnard Code Compliance Department conducted a special joint operation in response to complaints of illegal gambling at Del Sol Park in the La Colonia neighborhood of Oxnard.
Several males and females were observed playing cards, conducting monetary transactions and drinking alcohol in the park. Four adult males, all Oxnard residents, were arrested for the misdemeanor gambling violation and transported to the Oxnard Police Department for further questioning. Yesterday afternoon, as Oxnard police officers surrounded an apartment building in search of a wanted subject, a man jumped from a second floor apartment, fracturing his leg. The man was not wanted.
On October 5, 2010 at 2:45 p.m., Oxnard police received a call of a possible wanted subject inside an apartment in the 300 block of W. On 10-2-10, at approximately 9:35 PM, officers responded to a call in the 1600-block of 8th Place, City of Port Hueneme regarding a stabbing victim. Upon arrival, officers located a 17 year-old Oxnard resident with a stab wound. The victim was transported to Saint John’s Regional Medical Center and is listed in stable condition. On 10-2-10 at about 5:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress to an automobile parked in the 1700 block of Joanne Way. When officers arrived, they found that a 17-year old male juvenile from Oxnard was being detained by several residents after the juvenile was seen jumping out of a back yard where he had attempted to hide until he was discovered by the family’s large watchdog prompting him to leave his hiding place. A second suspect, an Hispanic male in his 20’s (no further description), had fled the area prior to officers’ arrival in an older blue Honda 4-door and is still being sought. On 9/04/10 at 0044 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department were dispatched to the 4900 block of Petit Drive reference a stabbing victim. When officers arrived they located a victim that suffered four stab wounds and other injuries as a result of the suspects hitting him with bats and poles. The victim was transported to VCMC where he was treated for his injuries and later released. On 9-29-10, at 2114 hours, Oxnard Police Officers were sent to the 2000 block of Almanor Street to recover a stolen vehicle. Upon the Officers’ arrival they observed Munden standing next to the victim’s vehicle. When Munden observed the officers approaching, he fled into a nearby residence located on Almanor Street. On August 17th 2010, Oxnard police officers were dispatched to a reported shooting in the area of San Jose Street at Halcon Street in the City of Oxnard. On 9-27-2010 at approximately 2130 hours, Oxnard Police Officers received a report of a home invasion robbery that had just occurred in the area of 400 block of West Yucca St. The victim told the officers that he was asleep in his room, when the two suspects entered his residence and began assaulting him. On 09-23-2010 at 10:44 AM, officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Cabrillo way in the City of Oxnard; reference a possible residential burglary in progress. A citizen reported that two males approximately seventeen years of age jumped the side fence of a residence into the rear yard. Graffiti Investigators, from the Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, conducted a two month investigation regarding an increase in graffiti vandalism by a particular graffiti vandal. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as Noe Melendez (6/23/91). On 9/23/10 at approximately 1330 hours, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department contacted our investigators and informed them that they had arrested Melendez for additional graffiti vandalism charges. On September 23, 2010, the Oxnard Police Department’s Narcotics Unit served a search warrant on Janet Pecatoste at her residence in the 2700 block of Geronimo Drive in the City of Oxnard. On 09-22-2010 at about 0949 hours officers received a call of a family dispute at 3285 Sycamore Street. While enroute to the location the dispatcher advised that the suspect William Stover (6-14-1967) was in the process of forcing entry to the locked door of the reporting parties’ bedroom. While units were responding code 3 to the location, officers were advised that the suspect was dousing the living room area with gasoline and threatening to set the residence on fire. In response to several alcohol-related collisions that have occurred on Thursday nights over the past several months, The Oxnard Police Department conducted a multi-location sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint on Thursday, September 16th, from 6:00 P.M. to midnight. On 9-12-10, Oxnard Police officers contacted two victims of a robbery that took place earlier in the afternoon hours.
The victims told officers they were preparing to leave La Gloria Market when they met an unknown Hispanic male in the parking lot. The victims agreed to give the unknown Hispanic male a ride. As the victim drove the vehicle, the unknown Hispanic male pulled out a gun and ordered the victim to continue driving. The Oxnard Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a multi-location sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint on Friday, September 10th, 2010, from 6:00 P.M. to midnight. The checkpoint will be held throughout the City of Oxnard and is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
From the beginning of 2010, the Oxnard Police Department has arrested over 650 drivers for DUI, an average of 81 each month. Last month, several additional officers were deployed to conduct DUI enforcement throughout the city. The enforcement efforts of these officers resulted in 95 DUI arrests, the most in the past 10 months including November of 2009 when 94 arrests were made. On 9/4/10 at approximately 0044 hours, Oxnard police officers responded to an assault victim in the 4800 block of Petit Drive. The officers located an assault victim with contusions and stab wounds. On September 2, 2010, from the hours of 10:00 AM to 1: 00 PM, Officers from the Oxnard Police Department teamed with Special Agents from Union Pacific Police Department, Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Homeland Security for a selective enforcement sweep of the railroad tracks running through the City of Oxnard from Camarillo to Montalvo. The goal was to look for trespassers on the private railroad property belonging to Union Pacific Railroad. Also, all vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists who failed to yield the right-of-way or obey train crossing signs/warnings for the train at grade crossings. On 09/01/2010 at approximately 2055 hours, officers were dispatched to the Warehouse Shoe Store located at 2330 Saviers Rd. regarding an armed robbery. On 8-28-10 at approximately 2352 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department were dispatched to a call of a stabbing victim in the 200 block of East Elm Street in the City of Oxnard. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim Oscar Borjon who had suffered two stab wounds to his body. During the investigation the suspect was determined to be the victim’s half brother Ruben Flores. On August 31, 2010, at approximately 1207 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the intersection of Vineyard Avenue and Simon Way after receiving a call of a traffic collision involving a tow truck and three pedestrians. While officers were enroute to the collision, several calls were received of an addition pedestrian/vehicle-involved collision at the intersection of Vineyard Avenue and Walnut Drive. Once on scene, officers and EMS personnel found that a tow truck driven by Mehran Khamseh, 45 years of Oxnard had struck Alma Lopez, 19 years of Oxnard, and her two children, a three year old and a one year old, as they were crossing Vineyard Av. at Simon Way. On 8-29-10 at 6:42 PM officers received a call of a shooting at 1309 Saviers Rd (Mr Kwiks). When they arrived they located the victim inside the business where he died from his injuries. Witnesses told officers that the victim was involved in a fight with the suspects and during the fight he was shot. The victim then staggered into the business and collapsed. On 8-25-10, at approximately 2200 hours, Oxnard Police Officers responded to Saint John’s Hospital Regional Medical Center reference contacting the victim of an assault. Officers discovered the victim was walking in the alley way of the 500-block of West Channel Islands Boulevard when he was approached by several unknown Hispanic males. The suspects yelled out gang slogans and then stabbed the victim multiple times. The suspects fled the area on foot while the victim was being transported to Saint John’s Hospital by a friend. On 08/25/2010 at approximately 9:55 a.m., an Oxnard Police Community Service Officer was sent to handle a residential burglary report that had just occurred. When she arrived to the neighborhood of the where the burglary had just occurred she noticed Octavio Rivera carrying a computer monitor. She quickly confirmed with the victim that a computer monitor was in fact one of the many stolen items and notified police officers in the area. An Oxnard man was arrested this morning for a hit and run, battery on one of the victim drivers, and a later, attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon and drunk driving.

On 08/21/2010 at approximately 1853 hours officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South “L” Street regarding an assault victim. When officers arrived they located the victim who had moderate facial injuries. On 08/21/2010 at approximately 0220 hours officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Alvarado Street regarding several shots heard in the area. When officers arrived they observed three subjects fleeing the area on foot. Two of the subjects were contacted and detained.
During the course of the investigation it was determined that the three subjects had broken into several vehicles in the neighborhood. A resident confronted the subjects from her balcony and during the confrontation one of the subjects shot at the resident with a pellet gun.

On 8-17-10 at around 10:25 PM, officers responded to a call of a shooting victim. Upon officers arrival they located the victim in front of a residence. Medical personnel attempted to revive the victim with negative results.
Witnesses told officers that the suspect and victim had a physical altercation and during the fight the victim was shot. On 8-16-2010 at approximately 0730 hours, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a call of a subject down in the alley of 560 S. A St., in the City of Oxnard. Officers and paramedics arrived and found the victim suffering from critical injuries. The victim was transported to Ventura County Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. On 08/16/2010 at approximately 0154 hours, a 35 year-old Oxnard resident was approached by three men. He knew one of the men and was going to give them a ride home. A suspect, who was later identified as a 16 year-old Oxnard gang member, produced a handgun and put it to the victim’s head. He demanded money from the victim while pointing a handgun at him. The victim gave them what little money he had while two other suspects threatened him with beer bottles. After the victim gave them his money, the suspects stole his Toyota Camry. The victim contacted the Police Department and the vehicle description was broadcast to patrol officers. An Oxnard mother was arrested for suspicion of felony drunk driving and felony child endangerment by Oxnard police following an early-morning crash that injured her 5-year-old daughter.

On 8/5/10 at approximately 1829 hours Oxnard Police were dispatched to the 900 block of South Ventura Road regarding a shooting that had just occurred. When officers arrived they located two victims that had sustained gunshot wounds. One of the victims had sustained a gunshot wound to his right arm and the other victim had sustained two gunshot wounds to his left hand. On 8-13-10 Officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a burglary in progress to a business in the 100 block of North Oxnard Boulevard. Officers contacted an employee at the business and learned that he was the victim of an attempted robbery. No property was taken during the attempted robbery. After a month long robbery investigation, members of the Violent Crimes Unit were able to identify six persons that were responsible for the incident. Due to the nature of the crime that was committed, SWAT teams from Oxnard, Ventura, and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department were utilized to serve several warrants at various locations in the City of Oxnard and Ventura. The observations of an alert Oxnard resident led to the arrest of a juvenile suspected in two vehicle crimes early this morning.
At 0654 hours, Oxnard police received a call of an auto theft in progress in the 700 block of Forest Park Blvd. The 30-year-old victim (whose identity is being withheld by police) watched his vehicle, a Chevrolet pick-up, being driven without his consent. A total of twenty-five DUI arrests were made over the weekend from July 30th to August 1st by the Oxnard Police Department, which deployed additional officers to conduct strict DUI enforcement throughout the city. On 8/1/10 at approximately 1250 hours Oxnard Police were dispatched to the 400 block of N. McKinley regarding a robbery that had just occurred. When officers arrived they contacted the victim who stated that he was walking in the 400 block of North McKinley when he was approached by two subjects. The two subjects pointed semi-automatic handguns at the victim and demanded his property. After taking the victim’s property both subjects fled the area on foot. On 7/31/10 at approximately 0205 hours officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of south “J” Street regarding a robbery that had just occurred. When officers arrived they contacted the victim who stated that he was sitting in his vehicle in the area of Seventh Street and Oxnard Blvd. A male and two females entered the victim’s vehicle and told him to drive. While the victim was with the subjects they brandished knives, robbed him of his money, and took additional property belonging to the victim. On July 28, 2010, at approximately 1909 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to Victoria Avenue, South of Gonzales Road after receiving a call of a roll-over collision involving two vehicles. Once on scene, officers and EMS personnel found that the vehicles, a white, BMW sedan and a red, Ford compact had collided in the southbound lanes. On 7-27-10, at approximately 5:32 P.M., officers were dispatched to Farmacia Estrella “Star Pharmacy” located at 5020 South “C” St. reference an armed robbery. Officers discovered two subjects entered the pharmacy and immediately went behind the counter. The suspects ordered the owner to open up the cabinets containing different medications. Rodriguez was crossing in the crosswalk while riding his bicycle at Colonia Rd. and Oxnard Blvd. when the suspect vehicle ran the red light and struck the victim bicyclist. The suspect, later identified as Oxnard resident Jose Vega, fled the scene in the vehicle however several witnesses stayed in the area to provide descriptions of the suspect vehicle with the direction of travel. Two other witnesses followed the suspect vehicle long enough to provide officers with an accurate description of the black Ford Expedition along with the license plate and last known direction of travel. On 07-25-2010 at 2332 hours, Oxnard police received numerous calls of a large fight in the 800 block of Cedar Court. The callers reported dozens of people fighting and throwing beer bottles, chairs and tables. Oxnard police arrived in two minutes and requested an additional two dozen police officers to deal with the crowd of 150 attending a baby shower in the courtyard of an apartment complex. Oxnard Police located an unoccupied stolen vehicle in the area of Jasmine and Elder Streets in Oxnard. The vehicle was a White Ford Edge stolen from the City of Camarillo during a residential burglary that occurred on 7-12-10. At about 4:00 PM today the suspect, later identified as Conrad Moraga, entered the stolen vehicle and drove off. A traffic stop was attempted, however Moraga led officers on a high-speed pursuit lasting about 22 minutes. Moraga drove recklessly to the City of Ventura before returning to Oxnard. The Sheriff’s helicopter was requested and arrived in time to assist with the pursuit. The pursuit ended at Gonzales and Lantana Streets in Oxnard when Moraga collided with another vehicle. On 07/16/2010 between the hours of 1:00 AM and 2:00 AM two suspects attempted entry to one a residence on the 800 block of Cedar Court and then again on the 900 block of Cedar Court. On 7-13-10 at 6:00 PM, officers responded to the area of Vineyard and Oxnard Blvd in regards to an assault victim. Upon officers arrival they contacted the victim that was suffering from a cut to his hand. On 7-13-10 at around 8:00 PM Officers responded to a stabbing victim at Sierra Park located at Lantana and Indigo. Upon officers arrival they found the victim had been transported by private vehicle to the hospital. At 10:46 a.m. this morning, Oxnard police received an emergency call of a fight in progress. The reporting party told Oxnard police and fire dispatchers that a burglary suspect was fighting with the apparent victim in the 1900 block of El Cajon Court. On July 11, 2010 at about 0335 hours, a white Honda Accord, driven by Maria Rodriguez, was rear-ended by a beige Pontiac Grand Am near the intersection of Sanford Street and Beaumont Ave. The driver of the Grand Am fled the collision scene in her car. On 7-10-2010 at approximately 0600 hours, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a robbery that occurred in the area of Edgewood and M St. in the city of Oxnard. The victim told the officers that he was parked and seated in his vehicle with some friends, when the two suspects approached and demanded money from the victim. One of the suspects later identified as suspect Lopez was armed with a knife. The victim handed over his money, and the suspects fled the area. On the above date and time officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a robbery at a business with a shot fired. Upon officers arrival they contacted the business owner. He said that he was in the business when the armed gunman entered. The gunman demanded money. Before the victim could open the cash register, the suspect fired a shot into a rear storage area of the business. The business owner was not injured during the incident. On 7-6-10 at approximately 1130 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a fight involving a knife, in the Wal-Mart Parking Lot located at 2001 N. Rose Avenue. The suspect was seen leaving the scene in a white vehicle. Officers located this vehicle in the area. The suspect was contacted and found to have a stab wound to her forearm. On 7-5-10, at approximately 1923 hours, officers responded to the 1300-blk of West Birch Street reference contacting a victim of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim who told officers he was riding his skateboard in the neighborhood when he was confronted by a group of males. One of these males, later identified as the suspect, made a comment to the victim about his skateboard. The victim ignored the suspect and he rode his skateboard home. On Monday July 5, 2010 at about 5:17 PM, Officer’s Phil Flores and Roque Rivera of the Oxnard Police Department were working a two-person patrol unit. They observed a silver 2006 Nissan Maxima commit a traffic violation in the area of Wooley Road and A Street. Officer’s Flores and Rivera attempted a traffic enforcement stop on the Nissan. The Nissan, later found to be driven by Ricky Allen Ritter, failed to yield to the police officers and a pursuit ensued through several streets in Oxnard. On 7-5-10, at approximately 0303 hours, officers responded to the 1800-block of La Puerta Avenue reference contacting a victim regarding her vehicle being stolen with her 4 year old daughter still inside the vehicle. The victim, Shalawan Wilson, told officers on 7-4-10, she was with her children celebrating the 4th of July when she received a phone call from her ex-boyfriend, suspect Kason Williams, asking for a ride. On 5/14/10 around 8:35 PM officers were dispatched to a call of a stabbing in the 900 block of South Ventura Rd. Upon arrival, they located two victims that were suffering from stab wounds. One victim was stabbed in the chest and abdomen while the other had suffered a superficial stab wound to his arm. Both victims were transported to St John’s Regional Medical Center. On Friday, May 14, 2010 at about 3:45 P.M., officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to an injury collision in the 1500 block of West Channel Islands Blvd. When officers arrived, they found a motorcycle had collided into a tree on the north side of Channel Islands Blvd. Officers also found a male lying on the ground 59 feet west of the tree. The victim was walking in the alley of the 3300 block of Sycamore Dr. when 3 Hispanic Males approximately 21 years of age came up from behind the victim and began to assault him. On 5-7-10 around 3:34 PM Officers responded to a call of a fight in the intersection of Rose Ave and Channel Islands Blvd. When officers arrived they located a victim of an assault. On 5/6/10 detectives from the Oxnard Police Department conducted search warrants in the 2600 block of Rudder Ave in the City of Port Hueneme and the 2100 block of Brigham Street in the City of Oxnard. This was in relation to two robberies that occurred on 4/23/10 in the City of Oxnard. Officers from the Oxnard Police Department Traffic Unit conducted DUI saturation patrols on Friday, April 30th and Saturday, May 1st, between the hours of 7:00 P.M. and 3:00 A.M. During these patrols, officers stopped 78 drivers, conducted 25 DUI investigations, and arrested nine drivers for DUI. On 4-30-10 at around 1:45 PM, Oxnard Police Officers were dispatched to Owl Towing, 2981 Ventura Bl. reference a subject standing in front of the business threatening employees and brandishing a shotgun. On Thursday, April 29, 2010, at about 1505 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department along with EMS personnel responded to a vehicle versus a pedestrian injury collision, at the intersection of Kamala Street and Lassen Street. When officers arrived, they discovered that a blue 2002 Ford Explorer had collided with a 6 years old boy. Upon making contact with the child, officers found that he, had sustained head injuries as a result of the collision. On 4-27-10 at around 7:22 PM officers were dispatched to a call of two shooting victims in the 100 block of West Hill Street. On 4-26-10, officers were patrolling the 1600-block of South Oxnard Boulevard when they saw a silver 4 door vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle recently used in several robberies which occurred over the weekend. The suspects driving this silver vehicle were described as 2 African American males in their mid 20’s. Officers eventually contacted the solo driver, Dante Payne, and during the course of the investigation, officers located several large knives in Payne’s vehicle. On 4/23/10 at approximately 3:00 p.m. Senior Officer Felice Thompson, Senior Officer Jose Silva and Officer Mike Wood were conducting a check of an unsecured vacant apartment complex in the 4600 block of Cloyne Street. While conducting their check they encountered two trespassers in one of the apartments. The subjects attempted to hide from officers inside the apartment but both were located and arrested. On April 22, 2010 at 10:20 PM, Gabriel Marquez and the victim, became involved in an argument in an automobile in the area of Ventura Road and Elm St. Marquez struck the victim in the face with a loaded handgun, causing an injury to the victims face. Officers observed a black Chev Tahoe at the Chevron Station where the four occupants were acting suspiciously. The occupants entered the vehicle and drove onto Gonzales Road. On April 12, 2010 at approximately 1600 hours, Officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2007 silver Pontiac Vibe in the area of Ventura Road and Channel Islands Blvd. The driver, Manuel Cortez failed to yield and a vehicle pursuit ensued. At the termination of the pursuit, Cortez and a male passenger, Eric Hartman, fled from the vehicle on foot. As they fled they discarded a loaded 9mm machine pistol. Hartman was taken into custody after a brief foot chase and Cortez was taken into custody after being found in hiding in a trashcan during an area search. On April 11, 2010 at approximately 5:15pm, Oxnard Police Officers received a call of several subjects fighting in Southwest Park, 2900 block of Fifth Street. Upon arrival, officers saw a large crowd in the park and several witnesses stated there had been a stabbing. The witnesses also pointed to a subject later identified as Leodegario Lopez and stated he was the suspect in the stabbing. Officers made contact with Lopez and recovered the weapon. On 4/9/10 at about 2303 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a shooting victim in the 100 block of North D Street. Upon arrival, officers found the injured victim in the common hallway of an apartment complex. On 4-8-10 at around 2:00 PM the victim was exiting a business in the 1900 block of Solar Drive. Upon reaching his vehicle he was confronted by the armed suspect. On 3-30-10 during the early morning hours investigators assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit conducted a search warrant. This search warrant was to obtain tagging paraphernalia and additional associated items. During the search warrant investigators located a small grow of marijuana and evidence for sales paperwork. At 2350 hours on 3/28/10 Officer Floriano and Officer Stevens were on patrol in a black and white police unit. They observed a Toyota Camry driving near Gonzales Road and Oxnard Boulevard with an inoperative rear light. The officers initiated a traffic stop but the suspect vehicle did not stop immediately. The suspect vehicle made two right turns eventually stopping on C Street north of Gonzales Road. As the officers approached the driver, Jose Gil, they observed him remove some objects from beside the driver seat and place these objects into his mouth. Gil was removed from the vehicle and placed into a prone position on the roadway. Gil eventually spit the objects out which turned out to be .4 grams of narcotics. Additional narcotics were also located inside the vehicle. On 3-28-10 at 9:57 hours, officers responded to a call of a shooting at the in the 1900 block of Sanford St. Upon their arrival they contacted several witnesses that said the victim had been transported by private vehicle to St John’s Regional Medical Center. On March 28, 2010, at approximately 1334 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department along with EMS personnel responded to 4901 S. “F” Street after receiving a call of a child that had been struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found that two children, a 3-year old male and an 11-year old male, had been struck by a vehicle driven by Estella Cruz. Both victims were transported to Saint John’s Regional Medical Center where the 3-year old succumbed to his injuries. The 11-year old was treated for a broken arm and was later released. On Friday, March 26, 2010 at 9:40 p.m., Senior Officer Steven Funk was on patrol traveling southbound on Oxnard Blvd. at Spur Dr. when he observed a Toyota Camry stopped at the side of the road. This vehicle was on fire with flames coming from inside the engine compartment. Senior Officer Funk saw a subject, later identified as William Page, inside the vehicle sitting in the driver’s seat but making no attempt to get out. The victim was conscious but unresponsive to the instructions of the officer. Senior Officer Funk approached the car which now had smoke and flames beginning to enter the passenger compartment. On 3/25/2010, at about 11:15 P.M., a resident arrived home in their vehicle when they noticed a male subject standing on top of the eave of the second story of their home located in the 1100 block of Offshore Street, Oxnard. The male subject was attempting to open a second story window. The subject jumped off the roof and fled when confronted by the resident of the home. Responding Oxnard police officers located a subject who fit the description of the subject who fled a short distance from the victim’s residence. Brian Starks, a 35 year old resident of Ventura County was arrested for murder early this morning in connection with the November 9, 2009 homicide of Michael Wade. Ventura County Sheriff’s Department S.W.A.T. along with S.W.A.T. officers from the Oxnard Police Department served simultaneous search warrants in Camarillo and Oxnard this morning. The warrant service was in response obtaining an arrest warrant for Starks yesterday afternoon. Starks was found at a relative’s house located in the 700 block of Mobil Ave in Camarillo. An alert citizen reports a car alarm sounding in the carports of the 700 Block of West Channel Islands Blvd. He goes to investigate, and is confronted by two males, one of which brandishes a butterfly-type-knife. Another concerned resident waves down a responding police cruiser, and the suspects flee on foot. Officers Floriano and Stevens were working in a two man police unit in Colonia when they saw what appeared to be two subjects in a fight at Cooper Rd. and Grant Ave. As they approached, the smaller of the two subjects in the altercation saw the police approaching and yelled for help. Both subjects were detained. During their investigation they learned that larger of the subjects, Francisco Rodriguez (12/19/79), was a documented Colonia Chiques gang member on the gang injunction. On 3/18/10 at approximately 2245 hours, Oxnard officers responded to a possible theft of an auto tow dolly from the closed U-Haul rental yard at 3020 Saviers Rd., Oxnard. The suspects fled prior to the arrival of officers. Officers searching the area located the stolen tow dolly in the alley of the 400 block of E. Olive St. as Thomas Cortez and Mario Durazo tried to walk away. Cortez and Durazo were detained by officers and the subsequent investigation determined that a 1995 Nissan pick-up that the suspects had used to steal the tow dolly was also stolen in Oxnard on 3/17/10. Further, a 2002 Ford F-150 pick-up truck that they were attempting to load onto the stolen tow dolly in the alley was stolen in Oxnard on 3/12/10. Cortez was arrested for auto theft, a felony. Durazo was also arrested for auto theft as well for being in possession of a controlled substance (a felony) and being under the influence of a controlled substance (a misdemeanor). On 3/18/2010 at about 0156 hrs, officers responded to a call of a shooting victim at St. John’s Hospital. Jorge Ortiz initially stated that he was shot by an unknown suspect as he was getting into his vehicle in the alley in the 5300 block of South J Street. At approximately 2321 hours on Wednesday, 3/17/2010 Oxnard Police detectives were investigating an incident that had been reported to them about three hours earlier. The detectives were investigating allegations of robbery and sexual assault that had been committed earlier that day upon a seventeen year old female. A 32 year old Oxnard resident was killed early Sunday morning after being stabbed by an unknown suspect and two other victims were hospitalized. David Cameron Gonzalez, 32 years and two friends drove to the area of the 100 block of S. “K” St in search of a party that was being held in the area. After they parked their car, the three victims began walking to look for the party, when they were attacked by several possible gang members. Gonzales and the two other victims were stabbed multiple times. Gonzalez died as a result of his injuries prior to being transported to the hospital. On 03-13-10 at approximately 2215 hours, Officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver 2000 Chevrolet Impala in the South alley of the 500 block of West Channel Islands Boulevard. The driver, Krista Munoz, refused to stop and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. During the pursuit the two male occupants, Guadalupe Lopez and Emilio Montiel, fled from the vehicle on foot. On 1622 hours, Oxnard police received a call of a subject driving a black pick-up equipped with flashing red and blue lights and a siren in the 300 block of Vanderbilt Drive. The caller reported the pick-up driver attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the caller’s vehicle by illuminating the red and blue lights and sounding the siren. The caller believed the pick-up was an undercover police vehicle so he pulled to the right and stopped. On March 10, 2010, at about 8:20 PM, Oxnard Police Officers Terry Dobrosky and Juanita Suarez observed a vehicle speeding near Anita and Colonia Rd in Oxnard. The officers observed the car stop, and the occupants contacting two individuals who were walking. The officers learned that the two persons observed walking had just attempted to rob by force a 20 year old Oxnard resident, who was in the car. On 2-21-10 Oxnard Police Officers were dispatched to the Wagon Wheel Bowling Alley 2801 Wagon Wheel Road regarding a man with a gun under his clothing. Patrol Officers detained 2 men who fit the description given by the reporting party. While searching the men for weapons, Officer Joseph Bentley located a loaded assault pistol with a high capacity magazine in Juan Avalos’ waistband. Avalos was arrested and he later posted bail. On March 9, 2010 at about 7:55 PM, a 26 year old female resident of Oxnard was jogging in the area of Cesar Chavez Dr and Juanita Ave. A subject ran up behind her and grabbed her in a “bear hug”. The victim began to struggle and scream for help, and the suspect released the victim and walked away. The victim described her attacker as being a Hispanic male in his 20’s, 6-0 tall, with a heavy build. On 3-7-10 at 2118 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the 500 block of W. Channel Islands Boulevard in regards to an assault. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim who had been assaulted by unknown subjects after they entered his apartment. The motive for the assault is unknown at this time. On 3-6-10 at about 0820 hours, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 4300 block of Nimitz Dr., Oxnard. While the officers were walking up to the door of the residence, they encountered Charles Tucker as he was trying to leave. The officers immediately noticed he had what appeared to be a rifle concealed under his clothing. The officers ordered him to the ground and he was detained for further investigation. Tucker was found to be in possession of an SKS assault rifle with a folding stock, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia. Further investigation revealed that Tucker was a convicted felon and prohibited from firearm ownership or possession. He was booked into the Ventura County Jail for 4 felony charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, possession of a concealed firearm by a felon, possession of an assault rifle, and 2 misdemeanor charges of possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. On 02/26/10 at 1545 hours, members from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit observed a vehicle occupied by several Oxnard gang members casing a residential area near Channel Islands High School. The subjects were subsequently seen tagging gang graffiti on a wall in the vicinity of the school. The subjects were contacted on a traffic stop as they attempted to leave the area in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the subjects were in possession of two handguns, one of which was loaded. All three subjects were arrested for multiple weapons violations including possession of a handgun in a school zone, graffiti vandalism, possession of graffiti tools, and committing a crime for the benefit of a criminal street gang. On 2-19-2010 at approximately 2000 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the 4900 block of S. “C” St after receiving a call of an injured female. Upon the officer’s arrival they located the victim inside of a business, unconscious with an obvious head injury. The victim was transported to a local hospital and passed away a short time later. A 65 year old Oxnard man died this morning from complications due to a stab wound sustained yesterday evening. On 2/16/10 at approximately 5:46 pm, officers responded to a call of a stabbing victim in the 300 block of Cooper Rd. The victim who has not been positively identified was transported to a local hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. On 2-17-10, at approximately 10:07 AM, the Oxnard Police Department received a 911 call regarding a possible hand grenade that was discovered in the bed of a construction truck at the Oxnard Costco. Oxnard Police and Fire responded to Costco and upon initial examination of the device, determined that the immediate area surrounding Costco was to be evacuated and cordoned off which included the street Paseo Mercado. The Ventura County Sheriff’s bomb squad responded and recovered the device that which appeared to be a hand grenade. The device’s state will be determined by the bomb squad at another location. On 2-16-10 at 5:46 PM, officers responded to a call of a stabbing victim in the 300 block of Cooper Rd. Upon officer’s arrival they located the victim; he was suffering from a severe stab wound. The victim was transported to St John’s Regional Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery. The victim is listed in critical condition. On 2-13-10 at 10:30 PM, officers responded to a call of a fight in the 5100 block of Cypress Rd. Upon officers arrival they located the victim that was suffering from severe head trauma. The victim was rushed to St John’s Regional Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery. The victims condition is life threatening. On 2/10/2010 at approximately 2120 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Valley Park Dr after receiving a call of a female heard screaming in the area. Upon the officer’s arrival they located the victim, identified as 45 year old Francisca Herrera Sufle lying in the alley suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. Standing near the victim was Eduardo Herrera Ventura, 46 years. On 2-10-10 at approximately 1600 hours Officers from the Oxnard Police Dept. were dispatched to the area of Juanita Avenue and Camino Del Sol after a citizen called to say there was a suspicious vehicle with several subjects inside the vehicle possibly smoking Marijuana. An Officer arrived soon after the call and observed a vehicle matching the description and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle began to travel slowly and was failing to yield to the officer. The vehicle eventually stopped and two passengers fled from the vehicle. Officers detained the remaining passengers. On 2-2-10, Oxnard Police Officer Robert Valenzuela was patrolling the 600 block of Ibiza Lane when he observed a suspicious vehicle travelling down the street. As the officer started to follow the vehicle, he observed that the vehicle was following a male subject who had been looking through the windows of several parked vehicles. On 1/25/2010, Officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of possible prowlers at a residence in the 1200 block of Martin Luther King Dr. Upon the officer’s arrival, they located a subject lying on the side of the residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. On 1/17/10, at about 1745 hours, the victim parks his vehicle in the 300 block of Canterbury Way. A male and female approached the victim's vehicle. The two suspects open the car doors and the male suspect pointed a chrome handgun at the victim. Both suspects yelled at the victim to get out of the vehicle. The victim struggles with the male over the gun. During the struggle, the gun falls apart and the victim holds onto the slide. On 01/07/10 at 8:40 AM City of Oxnard Parks employees were working at Southbank Park when they discovered a suspicious package with a note. Police were notified and as a precautionary measure the park was evacuated and the Rio Del Norte Elementary School was locked down. On the above date and time officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of El Dorado in the city of Oxnard regarding a subject in possession of a handgun. This street has been the scene of multiple gang related assaults in the past, including multiple gang related shootings. Patrol officers and Under Cover officers from the Special Enforcement Unit responded to the area. On 12-26-09 about 2004 hours, an Oxnard Police Officer initiated a contact with a man in the 1900 block of North Ventura Road in Oxnard. On 12-25-09, at approximately 2148 hours, officers received a call regarding a robbery that just occurred with one suspect being armed with a handgun. The suspect vehicle parked in front of the victim’s residence and one suspect approached the victims. The suspect claimed "Colonia" and then struck the victims with the handgun. A 50 year old Oxnard Resident was shot and killed outside of his residence Thursday evening. On 12/24/09 at approximately 2320 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a shooting victim in the 200 block of Alpine St. Upon the officer’s arrival, they discovered Mario Cisneros lying on the side of his residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. On 12/24/2009 at about 1640 hours, victim Mateos was on his way to work driving a Scat Access Van. Mateos stopped at an ATM on the corner of Second Street and “A” Street to withdraw money from his account. On Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at approximately 0443 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department along with EMS personnel responded to an injury collision in the 1100 block of West Hemlock Street. When officers arrived, they discovered that three vehicles were involved in the crash. One of the vehicles involved, a Plymouth Voyager van, had rolled over and had come to rest on its passenger side. The driver of the van fled the scene on foot leaving an injured female passenger, Dolores Galiney, trapped inside of the vehicle. Galiney was removed from the vehicle by EMS and transported to St John’s Hospital where she was listed in critical condition. Galiney later succumbed to her injuries and died at the hospital. A 46 year old Oxnard man was shot and killed by officers following a lengthy vehicle pursuit and crashing into several police cars. The driver of the vehicle was employed by a local propane company. On 12-3-09, at approximately 8:14 PM, officers responded to a call in the 3300-block of Merced Place regarding a shooting victim. During the investigation Ignacio Ixta Jr (DOB 12-20-88) was identified as a person of interest in the shooting. On 12/21/2009 at about 2143 hours, a male subject called the Oxnard Police Department through the 911 system over a cellular phone. On 12/20/2009 at about 0244 hours, the victim was sitting on his front porch when a black compact vehicle parked in front of his residence. Two Hispanic males and an Hispanic female began to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana. The victim confronted the subjects for drinking and smoking in front of his residence. At 2:23 AM on 12/18/2009 Oxnard Police Department officers responded to a call of a robbery that just occurred at the Circle K Food Store, located at 2323 North Oxnard Boulevard, in Oxnard. On December 17, 2009 at 2:32 PM, the Oxnard Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Magnolia Av reference a subject threatening his family with a gun. At 1229 hours on December 17, 2009, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a stabbing in the 5200 block of South J in Oxnard. Officers located a male subject who had minor stab wounds to the arm and who refused medical treatment. A short time later a female returned to the scene who had also been stabbed, also in the arm and suffered minor wounds. They told officers that they were inside one of the apartments when a third individual entered and stabbed them. The suspect is known to the victims. On 12/17/09 at approximately 0015 hours an Oxnard Police Officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of Ninth Street and “E” Street. When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The officer pursued the vehicle and during the pursuit it was determined that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Oxnard earlier in the week. On 12/16/09 at approximately 2020 hours officers were dispatched to a carjacking that had just occurred in the 600 block of West Hueneme Road. When officers arrived they contacted the victim. The victim told officers that he exited his vehicle to go into a local eating establishment when the suspect approached him and the victim’s passenger. The suspect brandished a weapon and ordered the victim to move away from the vehicle. The suspect entered the vehicle and drove away. On 12-12-09 at 8:54 PM, Officers responded to a call of an injured subject near the intersection of Guava and “G” Streets. When they arrived they located the victim suffering from several stab wounds. The victim said that two suspects had assaulted him and when he jumped out of his taxi the suspect’s drove away in it. On November 10, 2009, at approximately 2043 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the intersection of Gonzales Road and Patricia Street after receiving a call of a single vehicle, roll-over collision. While officers and emergency medical personnel were responding, callers advised that there were several occupants in the overturned vehicle. Once on scene, officers and EMS personnel found that the vehicle, a gray, Mitsubishi had struck a tree in the center median and also found four occupants trapped inside of the severely damaged vehicle. Firefighters were able to reach the occupants and attempted to render aid. They soon determined that only one of the occupants, the driver, a Hispanic male in his early 20s, was alive. The three passengers, all Hispanic males in their late teens to early 20s were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to Saint John’s Regional Medical Center where he was immediately taken into surgery for major injuries. He is in critical condition. On November 10, 2009, at approximately 1749 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the area of Bard Road and Pleasant Valley Road after receiving a call that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. Emergency medical personnel also responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found that a Hispanic male, 73 years old had been struck by a Volkswagen, Passat that had been traveling eastbound on Bard Road. On Friday October 9, 2009 at 1115 hours, members of the Oxnard Police Department responded to EO Green Middle School after a threatening telephone call was received at the school. As a precaution, the school was placed on a lock-down and a search of the school was conducted by police officers and school staff. When it was determined that the school was safe, the lock-down was released and classes resumed.

On 9/5/09, at about 1700 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a robbery that occurred at 250 East Pleasant Valley Road. The victim was selling ice cream from a cart when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect displayed a handgun in his waistband and demanded the ice cream cart. The suspect fled the area with the cart which contained ice cream and cash made from sales. As the suspect fled, he told the victim not to call the police or he would harm his family. On 1/28/09 at approximately 1120 hours, Oxnard Police Officer Ricky Vega was patrolling the Rose Park area of Oxnard when a white vehicle caught his attention. The vehicle was driving slowly towards a group of males standing near a house in the area. The officer recognized the occupants of the vehicle as gang members of a rival gang and proceeded to make a traffic stop on the vehicle. On January 25, 2009 at 8:40 p.m. officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a shooting victim in the area of Hemlock Street and Ventura Road. Oxnard police received a call of a large fight involving a knife in the 1300 block of Commercial Avenue on Sunday (January 18) night at 9:27 p.m. A total of ten Oxnard officers responded to this incident. Upon arrival, officers located a large group standing around an injured subject in the roadway with several unspent rounds of ammunition strewn about him. On 8-16-2008 at approximately 9:30 am Officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a shooting victim in the 2300 Block of N. Oxnard Blvd. Upon their arrival the officers learned that the victim, identified as 55 year old Gurmohinder Singh had just made a cash withdraw from the US Bank located at Vineyard and Oxnard Blvd. As Singh walked out of the bank, he was confronted by a single suspect armed with a handgun. The suspect immediately shot the victim and took the victim’s money which was still in his hands. The suspect then fled the area on foot, North through the parking lot.
